"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thess 5:16-18). On January 2, 2023, football fans witnessed Damar Hamlin suffer a severe medical emergency, being resuscitated on the field and taken to the hospital where he went through a miraculous recovery. In situations like this, it's important for legacy dads (and moms) to use it as a teachable moment. When we see something like that happen, how do we rejoice? How do we pray? And how do we give thanks? Even in the circumstances where it is difficult to do any of those three things, we are still called to do so because it is God's will for us who are in Christ Jesus. Listen in as the guys discuss the incident and talk about how to apply this particular verse into our daily activities!
"Time" with Fox and Rob Richardson
We had the pleasure to interview Fox and Rob Richardson about their upcoming book "Time: The Untold Story of the Love That Held Us Together When Incarceration Kept Us Apart." This is yet another example that there is nothing that God cannot shine through.
The twenty-one years that kept Rob separated from his wife, Fox, and their six sons was long enough. As Rob survived two decades at America's bloodiest penitentiary and Fox raised their sons solo, they never stopped fighting for Rob's freedom and for their futures against the statistical odds. All the while, it was love that carried them through.
The Academy Award-nominated documentary Time introduced audiences to Fox and Rob, who riveted audiences with their relentless fight for each other and justice, despite America's broken prison system. This book tells the rest of their story. In alternating voices and intimate detail, Fox and Rob reveal what the film does not--how a person can cultivate the radical love needed to see them through any hardship and how miracles can happen on the way.
As they peel back the layers of their unforgettable love story, you'll discover the secrets of perseverance and the power of a resilience that is founded on faith in a God who never gives up on us.

Discipleship Series 2023: Beauty, Brawn, and Brains Part 2
The Legacy Dads continue the conversation with Jeff, Joe, and Phil to discuss the ways in which Christians, who are living in their true kingdom identity, are called to mission. Whatever sector of life you are in (there are 7), God calls Christians to "therefore go and make disciples." That involves sacrifice, effort, and most importantly, full faith in where God leads you. Listen in to this episode to hear some truth-bombs being dropped by all the guests. If you aren't inspired to go and do something for the kingdom of God after this conversation, we aren't sure what else we can do! Step 1: shed the false identity and assume your God-given kingdom identity. Step 2: get into true community with other Christians (not fellowship...but actual community...where you're vulnerable with others). Step 3: listen for God...He is always talking. He'll point you where you need to go. Step 4: Go!

About Resilient Kids:
Children need to believe their future is bright. The more disappointments they don’t recover well from, the less likely they are to dream. When they do not process challenging experiences well it can lead to defeat, rather than encourage them to grow and mature. Far too many children don’t grasp their strengths and, as a result do not believe they can overcome negative encounters. Apathy sets in. Discouragement persists. Arguments rage. Mental health suffers. Children need to be resilient and when they develop this ability and make wise choices it becomes part of their character. Furthermore, they need parents who help them to learn from negative experiences and who allow them a certain measure of struggle. In Resilient Kids moms and dads will learn the power and purpose of resilience and how to parent so as to make it more likely their children will utilize this character quality.
