We believe in Sola Fide, Sola Scripura, the Apostles Creed and teach Truth as the goal but extend Grace to those who fall short.

Dave

FATHER. FORGIVEN. FORTITUDE

Dave joined the Legacy Dads team in 2021 after finding the ministry and podcast in 2018. He was at a point where he had re-dedicated his life to Christ and needed biblical and practical advice on how to be a man, husband, and father. Dave is a proponent of the mindset that God doesn't need ability, He needs availability...then He takes care of the rest.

Dave married his wife Mandy in 2006, and they have four kids - born in 2011, 2016, 2018, and 2021 (and now there is 5). They are a military family and have moved all over the United States and spent two years overseas in South Korea as well.

After multiple deployments and other trips, they know the importance of relying on a strong relationship with God to guide them even when they are miles apart. They've had ups and downs, and it is only because of their faith in God that they've been able to weather the storms.

Dave's go-to Bible verse is John 1:5

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness shall not overcome it."

His journey with the Lord has taken him from a "check the box, I went to church this week" attitude to one of embracing the spiritual leadership of his family, participating in the life of his church, involved in the worship team and men's ministry, and utilizing his career skills to enable college students and missionaries with the ability to survive in hostile environments.

You can reach Dave via email at dave@legacydads.org and he will get back to you!

Lance

FOUNDER. WARRIOR. FORMER ATHEIST.

Lance founded Legacy Dads in 2005 when he started struggling as a husband and father. Lance spent 26 years working in the most elite organizations of the military and government in global crisis response around the world. Lance started working in full time international missions work in 2021 with Samaritan’s Purse and the Salt and Light Group. Lance also teaches missionaries and NGO workers how to survive in the most dark, dangerous, and difficult places around the globe.

Lance has been a conference speaker, ministry leader, church planter, and is now an empty nest father.

"I'm a dedicated husband, father, and ragamuffin follower of Christ. I struggle daily with sin, but strive to be authentic in my walk while creating a lasting Biblical legacy in the lives of my children and those I teach. I don't want anything from you… but I do want something for you and for your family."

24 years ago, when Lance first became a parent, he was clueless and fearful of raising his children in a hostile world. He had no parenting strategy but wanted to ensure that he raised children who would grow up to be strong, intelligent, and moral adults who would impact the world. After reading almost 300 parenting books and going to a few parenting courses, he soon realized that the “experts” (both Christian and secular) all had varying and sometimes conflicting ideas and research on how to be an effective parent.

This led Lance to look for Biblical, ethical, and moral strategies that came with results and evidence based solutions.  Legacy Dads started as Lance's personal misadventures in parenthood but soon morphed into a following and teaching platform for thousands of followers.

Lance grew up in the Church and went to a Christian school, but became a professing atheist in his early 20's when he failed to get his hard questions about faith answered. Lance was saved after some crazy life experiences and has since helped plant churches, built ministries from the ground up, and has lived and worked in over 40 countries with all religions and cultural backgrounds.

Lance believes that strong families = strong churches = strong communities - which ultimately can change the world.

Dante

ELDER. BUSINESSMAN. CANCER SURVIVOR.

Dante lives in the Chicago area with his wife and three children. Despite his day job on the floor of the CBOT, Dante's heart lays in the church.  Dante has served a church deacon and elder, a leader of marriage mentoring and pre-marriage counseling with his wife, and he currently leads the Men's Ministries at a multi-campus church.  Dante is also a cancer survivor and avid marathon runner. Because of his strong relationship with his wife and his desire to see his children grow up loving Christ, Dante strives to see the men of the church become strong leaders of their households.

Dante is a father of four with three in their teens and an adopted elementary aged child. Dante is currently “in the trenches” each day as a father.

"If you are a follower, then follow with all your heart, strength, and mind. If you are a leader, turn around and see who is following you. If no one is, then get out of the way and start following. If you have people following you, then turn toward Jesus and rely on him for your leadership."

"I am a dedicated husband, father, and Christian. I have a heart for men to find their God-given talents and abilities. I want men to engage their wives and children and follow the call of Christ for holy living and to disciple others."

Dante discovered LegacyDads shortly after some health scares with both he and his wife.  Dante was struck at the transparency and vulnerability of the message and immediately reached out to the LegacyDads team. A few months later, Dante was writing and soon speaking on behalf of LegacyDads.

Gary

GRANDFATHER. SAGE. GENERATIONAL.

Gary wrote with Legacy Dads from 2010 until losing his battle with cancer in 2013.

Gary was a combat fighter pilot, Vietnam veteran, writer, missionary, and true cowboy at heart. His was known on Legacy Dads as “Windmill Duke” as he would greet the Legacy Dads team wearing chaps and a six shooter!

Gary often wrote on the legacy of generational parenting and passing on wisdom and parenting to grandchildren and beyond.

Gary was a remarkable man, father, husband and grand-father.  Gary lived his life for the Lord and embodied the true spirit of a Legacy Dad.  As Stevenson wrote "Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same"  - Gary left a lot of footprints on many hearts.

We are envious of you Gary, as you now get to spend your days with God in Heaven basking in all His glory.  I'm sure the first words he spoke to you were…”Well done good and faithful servant. You have fought the good fight, You have finished the race, You have kept the faith.”
