Love and Marriage...and In-Laws

One of our listeners sent us a message about some challenges he is facing with his relationship with his in-laws. The guys dive into the topic under the premise of first going to God, and second, realizing the importance of setting up healthy boundaries. When it has to do with protecting the marriage relationship, sometimes we need to take more direct action. Other times, we need to have some open and honest conversations and pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of those in our lives. Listen in as Dave and Dante discuss this topic...and let us know if there's more that we could cover!

Quit Porn. Happy Valentine's Day!

Porn is bad for you. Again...porn is bad for you! That's what this episode is about. Even though we all know the toxicity of the issue, it continues to be a problem. There's plenty of statistical evidence that shows what happens physiologically when you consume and get addicted to porn. There are plenty of stories of people who have tried to hide their habit and let it destroy them from the inside out. Yet it remains present, and something we must address. Listen in as the guys get real in a no-holds barred conversation about porn. If you take anything from this episode, it should be this: porn is bad for you.

Stop rationalizing the behavior. Stop trying to say it's something else. You know what you're doing, and God knows. The best thing you can do is turn to Him and let Him overwhelm you with His grace and His mercy. That's the way out. And there are other resources you can turn to as well:

"Don't Miss Your Life" with Aaron Tredway

In this interview we had the pleasure to talk with Aaron Tredway about his book "Don't Miss Your Life: The Secret to Significance."

Live life to the fullest. Nobody wants to look back on a disappointing, unfulfilled life. Why then are so many of us dissatisfied despite our goals and continual striving? In Don’t Miss Your Life, Aaron Tredway reveals we’re aimed at the wrong target: success. Despite our pursuit of something more, we are stuck chasing our idea of success instead of true significance. But we don’t have to be rich or famous to lead a life of meaning in God’s kingdom.

In this practical guide, Aaron shares his personal discovery of the secret to significance and invites you to live the life God created you for. Learn to recognize the exhausting emptiness of pursuing success, find liberation from a life without purpose, pursue God’s glory instead of unrewarding self-focus, and choose significance over success one step at a time. You were made for a meaningful, deeply fulfilling life, and you can achieve just that!

Authenticity: Necessary for Christian Men

A few episodes ago (season 7, episodes 13 and 14) we discussed humility and vulnerability. In this podcast we discuss authenticity and how it correlates with those other two characteristics. In order to be effective in Christian community, we need to be authentic. Being authentic means being true to one's own personality, spirit, or character. Our sinful nature tells us to hide our truth, to not be authentic. But, as we discussed with both of the other qualities, when we are authentic with who we are and with those around us, the only thing that happens is spiritual growth in the image of God. Listen in as the guys discuss this character trait, and see if there are any areas where you could open this up in your life!
