ACTS PRAYER

The ACTS acronym is a simple and structured way to guide prayer, helping believers focus on key elements of a meaningful conversation with God. It stands for:

A – Adoration (Praise and Worship)

  • Begin by praising God for who He is—His greatness, holiness, and love.

  • Example: “Lord, You are mighty and faithful. You created the heavens and the earth, and Your love never fails.”

  • Scripture: Psalm 95:6“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

C – Confession (Admitting Sin and Seeking Forgiveness)

  • Acknowledge your sins before God and ask for His forgiveness.

  • Example: “Father, I confess my impatience and lack of trust in You. Please cleanse my heart and help me walk in righteousness.”

  • Scripture: 1 John 1:9“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

T – Thanksgiving (Gratitude for God’s Blessings)

  • Express gratitude for what God has done in your life—both big and small.

  • Example: “Thank You, Lord, for Your provision, for my family, and for the gift of salvation.”

  • Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

S – Supplication (Making Requests for Yourself and Others)

  • Bring your personal needs and the needs of others before God.

  • Example: “Lord, I ask for wisdom in my decisions and healing for my friend who is sick. Guide me in Your will.”

  • Scripture: Philippians 4:6“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
